Course Description
Ready to take your CNC skills to the next level? This hands-on, multi-day course dives into CAM programming and CNC operation using Fusion and the Tormach 1100MX. You’ll learn how to move from digital design to physical part by mastering toolpaths, simulation, and machine setup.
Through guided instruction and practical application, you’ll build confidence generating G-code, setting up work coordinate systems, and executing your first cuts safely and accurately. This course is ideal for makers looking to bridge the gap between CAD design and real-world machining.
Key Learnings
Day 1 – Fusion and CAM • Work holding strategies • Fusion tool library setup • Feeds and speeds fundamentals • Fusion machining setup & WCS • 2D machining toolpaths • CAM simulation
Day 2 – Manual Machining • Review of Day 1 concepts • Intro to manual machining processes • Understanding setups and material prep • Reinforcing machining fundamentals
Day 3 – CNC Setup • 3D toolpaths • CAM simulation • Post processor overview • Generating G-code • Tormach PathPilot (CNC control) • Tool offsets on the Tormach 1100MX • WCS on the Tormach 1100MX
